Nigeria has discovered a super methamphetamine laboratory and dislodged a major drug trafficking organizations in the country. Officials of the Special Enforcement Team (SET) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) made a significant breakthrough with the discovery of a super laboratory for the illicit production of methamphetamine located at Asaba, Delta State. This super methamphetamine laboratory similar to the ones found in Mexico is the first to be discovered in the country.

The acting Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mrs. Roli Bode-George has decried the reported death sentence passed on a Nigerian, Ekene Collins Isaac, 37, by a Malaysian high court. Ekene was found guilty of smuggling 915.6g of methamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy or MDMA, into Malaysia three years ago.
High court judge Datuk Wan Afrah Wan Ibrahim said the prosecution had proven Isaac’s guilt beyond doubt as she passed down the death sentence. Roli however promised that diplomatic efforts shall be explored to save the convict and assured Nigerians that the Agency will maintain total alertness in drug detection operation all through the year.
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a truck load of cannabis disguised as biscuits and cheese balls. The discovery of the drug weighing 3,542.25kg was made by officers and men of the Agency in Ogun State along Odeda axis of Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government of the state.
